SPRING/SUMMER STYLES 2016 MATERNITY & NURSING - Click to read on
So it’s that time of year when all those bright colours and bold prints appear in high street stores, online and in boutiques across Ireland.
Maternity is a niche market in Ireland so it’s all about finding a number of items you need and love from each of your favourite places…buying and wearing them till the very end.
Funny how all our boxes of spring/summer 2016 wear, arrived the morning that it snowed across Dublin. It feels so strange to be uploading summer styles on-line at present but we know some sun-shine is only around the corner
OUR GUIDE TO FIRST TRIMESTER DRESSING! - Click to read on
Firstly, a huge congratulations on your wonderful news! A little miracle is now starting to grow, and changes will soon happen. It’s now time think about your new wardrobe and how to keep your style in pregnancy.
So, on the very first few weeks of pregnancy, some of us may have a complete feeling of euphoria or perhaps you may be feeling tired and sluggish. Our bodies are going through a huge change and every new mum to be will experience different feelings and emotions.
Fashion, for some mums-to-be, is probably the last thing on their minds, but wearing the right clothing at each stage will help you feel more comfortable and boost your confidence while dressing your new curves. It’s important not to over-spend, but it’s essential to have some versatile key pieces. On my last pregnancy I was short of hitting my husband’s wardrobe to perhaps barrow a few baggy sweaters, but, thankfully, my love of fashion did not allow it!
Getting started
Take a day to yourself and rearrange your wardrobe, keeping a section free for what you might wear over the next nine months. Comfortable clothing from 9-5 is what you need!
Put aside anything too clingy or tight (including your favourite bodycon dress). Stick with shapes and styles that flow over your tummy, hips and thighs. This will help camouflage any extra body weight in the first few months. Figure-hugging tops are best to be kept until a later stage and will compliment a bigger bump.

OUR GUIDE TO THIRD TRIMESTER DRESSING! - Click to read on
You’re finally in your third trimester, and for some it seems like a life long journey, but of course a fantastic one! This was my most favourite trimester, not only for fashion but just knowing it's getting closer to meeting your little one.
Plain and simple colours like black, white, grey and navy are fantastic, but do try some prints, as most of them will work with your bump; some may not, but give them a go anyway. When shopping for prints and colours, remember that small dots are easier on the eye than large - the same goes with stripes. All-in-one colours are more slimming to wear also, and make the body look longer.
What if you’re feeling huge, and black is all you want to wear? That’s fine, once you’re feeling comfortable. Why not add some boldness to your look in the form of a funky, coloured scarf or a pair of printed pumps? We love leopard print as it’s always a fun print to wear. Even wearing a brightly-coloured nail varnish will help!
DRESSING YOUR BUMP FOR AN OCCASION! - Click to read on
So we sure are in full swing of wedding season. The wedding invites are popping through your letter boxes - black tie, of course, and your office at work is up for an award. Indeed, the girls will be dressed in their best.
The big question is: what on earth am I going to wear? And it’s only harder with a bump in tow. It is difficult enough to find the perfect dress, non-pregnant, for any event, and there is always pressure to look your best and feel good.
There is certainly less choice when it comes to maternity occasion wear, and it sure is more expensive for the average pretty dress. It can be hassle for most pregnant ladies to find that perfect outfit. However, once the invite is received, and the acceptance gets a 'yes' and is in the post, it’s time to find a fabulous dress that will turn a few heads.
Here are some tips while shopping for different events!
HOLIDAY PACKING WHILE PREGNANT! - Click to read on
It’s that time of the year, and holidays are nearly upon us. Hopefully, you’re lucky enough to be jetting off to the sun! God knows, we need it, as the weather in Ireland hasn’t been great so far. Hopefully we will get a great July and August (fingers crossed)
It’s hard to know, when packing, what essentials you will need, especially if this is your very first pregnancy. What we don’t want to do is over-pack and lug around a heavy case.
I absolutely loved being pregnant in the sun; I was completely chilled out and enjoyed every minute of the relaxation. I knew it would be a very different holiday the following year with baby.
Always remember to roll your clothes! Less creasing and provides more space. It’s that time of the year, and holidays are nearly upon us. Hopefully, you’re lucky enough to be jetting off to the sun!
